I have big THANKS to this school! It changed my skills and techniques. Teaches were very attentive and professional. When I chose new school for myself, first I looked at the graduates, on their work and only after I checked price, place, tools and so on. This is one of the few schools that can boast of its graduates. Even if I had strict teachers, I would be grateful, because in my understanding, there is no place for flattery in school.
The price for me was not cheap, because I still had to rent a house, have pocket money, but for me it was a profitable investment in my career. I think this school differs from other schools in that it gives all the techniques that can be useful for make-up artists working in the fashion industry. Since first visiting Glauca and the school back in 2017, I knew straight away that I couldn’t picture myself studying anywhere else. The school also has a long list of extremely talented and successful past students, and having now studied at the school I can understand why.
There are not many people that you meet that leave a mark in your life, but Azzurra is one of mine. Being taught by Azzurra, the head tutor at the school, was an absolute pleasure. She is such a talented artist and teacher, and pushes you to reach your full potential. Her knowledge and experience is extremely evident, and she was able to adapt her teaching to fit an individuals needs. The improvements and growth I saw both within myself as an individual and as an artist, especially in such a short time, were incredible, and that’s all down to her. I felt extremely comfortable and cared for by both Azzurra, Glauca and the fellow students, which made the experience even more memorable.
The course itself is everything you need to train as a working makeup artist. You get to learn a range of skills within both fashion and glam makeup, as well as the study of period looks from 1920s- present. You also get to experience photoshoots with professional photographers, which make a great addition to the building of your portfolio. A makeup kit is also provided for you on the longer courses, which ensures you have the essentials to begin training as an artist.

Additionally, the teachers were amazing and so talented and really helped «train my eyes» into details of makeup. I thought I knew a lot about makeup and techniques until I joined Glauca Rossi, the training is very in depth and the teachers are extremely knowledgeable. The kit provided is fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have learnt a lot about editorial makeup but also great techniques I can use for every day and bridal makeup. I attended the eight week course in the summer of 2019 and am very satisfied with the quality of this course. Please keep in mind that this isn't a school for bridal makeup, it is for fashion and editorial makeup. However, the techniques they teach in class will benefit anybody who wants a serious career in makeup and I could see myself visibly improving my skills in a matter of weeks.
The kit they provide you is awesome. The eyeshadows are spectacular (I have never played with nicer blue eyeshadows in my life than the ones from Glauca's school) and the brushes are super useful. There is a wide range of good quality lipsticks provided from nudes to pinks to fun fashion colours like silver and gold. I also think the powders are nice as well.
The course is about learning the looks from the 20s to the 90s. Whether it was punk or disco or the 90s supermodels era, we gained hands on experience because we did such makeup on our classmates every day. Before attending school I was very intimidated to apply makeup on my friends and family even though I was totally into makeup and wanted to be a makeup artist for years. But now I can say that I have the confidence to do decent makeup on pretty much anyone because I practiced a lot in school.
The teachers are makeup wizards and are full of knowledge. There were so many times where I was totally in awe when they did their demos for us to practice. Their eye for the details is incredibly useful and they always pushed us students to improve every day. Truthfully, they were extremely generous with their makeup secrets and products they shared with us.
I would say that for the person thinking about investing in this course, it really depends on the «end goal» of what you want. For example, if you're not ready to commit to attending school 10-5pm on weekdays, I don't think this school is for you unless you have a lot of spare time and cash in your hands. In my case, I wanted to become a great makeup artist someday and this was an investment for me — it took me years to save up for makeup school. But now with the knowledge and hands-on practice I have the tools to become one.

For me,English isn't my first language. However I'm so greatful for my teacher and classmates helping me a lot.
There was one teacher for every six students, but she gave the utmost attention to each student without any distinction. Teaching people is very energy intensive. Our teacher, Azzurra, has a great deal of enthusiasm and responsibility, always paying attention to all students, and has taught us the wisdom and skills to be active in the fashion industry. Students are also multinational and will broaden your values and horizons.
In side the school,it's sufficient cleanliness and lovely place. I didn't get stress about covid-19 at all when I practiced makeup at school.

Our teacher, Azzurra, has a great deal of enthusiasm and responsibility, always paying attention to all students, and has taught us the wisdom and skills to be active in the fashion industry. Students are also multinational and will broaden your values and horizons.
In side the school,it's sufficient cleanliness and lovely place. I didn't get stress about covid-19 at all when I practiced makeup at school.

Amazing experience, if you want to be a makeup artist I really suggest you to attend Glauca's courses. Great teachers with different backgrounds and styles will show you how to create stunning looks starting from the basis to achieve the most artistic vision of makeup. Highly recommend even if you have been trained before, this course will broaden your mind, strengthen you technique and stimulate your creativity as never before. Moreover, a special mention goes to Azzurra, a great teacher and a delightful person! Worth it!

My experience at Glauca Rossi is something I will remember for the rest of my life. I learnt more than I ever have in such a short period of time, I think this is due to the way the school focuses on teaching you to do different makeup styles that are extremely important to be able to master as they are so iconic in the industry. You're taught to do these looks on different faces ( canvases) which is the key to success in becoming a confident makeup artist.

Where do I even begin. First of all, huge thank you to Glauca, who has been nothing but supportive from the very first start.
I decided to attend the 12-weeks course in summer 2018 and we were a group of very individual and fantastic 6 women. Besides me and one other girl, the rest did the 8-weeks intensity course. Throughout the course you practise on each other, which is a very valuable experience. Getting your makeup done by someone else, you realise how not to do certain steps or do them differently, how much pressure to apply, etc.
During the first week we learned the basics of makeup and started with the first decade. Each look was scheduled for 2-3 days, depending on how fast everyone understood the techniques of the look. Throughout the course, we learned the most important and most influential decades that shaped the makeup industry and are still majorly influencing today's makeup looks.
What I liked most about the 12-weeks course instead of the 8-weeks was, that I had another round of lovely faces to work on after the intensity course finished. I was also able to really focus on my photo shootings, practise the looks and try out different looks. I was also able to redo some of the decades that I struggled with.
The teachers are nothing but wonderful. Tania, Azzurra, Lily, and Laura were such a pleasure to be around and gave us all the insights of their experiences. Reading previous comments, I cannot disagree more. If you decide to attend the course, ASK ASK ASK as many questions as you can. You are right at the source of very talented makeup artists who have assisted and still assist major makeup artists. You will be surprised by how much they know and don't even get me started on the tips they gave us...
You are given a basic kit that includes very basic foundation that has to be mixed in order to find the right tone/shade. Believe me, it is harder than it sounds. You learn to look at everyone's skin tone and evaluate the shade to match it accordingly. Most of the brushes are lovely, some of them are, at first a bit confusing but as the course progresses you will realise that the purpose of those brushes is not necessarily to make your life easier but to LEARN the techniques properly. Blending for 5 minutes - absolutely. Why? Because you need to learn to find love in the detail and what blending actually does.The colour range of the eyeshadows is amazing and the formula is really good. You also get a great range of lipstick colours.
The school is an investment and this career will continue to be an investment. You have to spend a lot of money on building your kit but this course gives you the freedom to not be biased by certain brands and to trial and error with different formulas, etc. If you're lucky, your fellow students let you borrow their products and vice versa :-)
Also, this is a makeup school specialised in high fashion (!) and the real world starts, when you're leaving this course. So take as much information with as you can!

I think we all know that 2020 was one rollercoaster of a year, but I feel very fortunate to have attended Glauca's 8 week makeup course when I did. Not only have I been able to work with some incredibly talented and lovely students, I've also been taught by the amazing Azzurra.
Azzurra has so much knowledge and experience that she is able to push you when you don't even realise you need pushing. She knows when to let you try out something and when to step in and show you how it could be done. I loved making mistakes or running into issues because that was when I'd ask Azzurra to step in and show me how to fix them, as I will inevitably make those mistakes and run into those issues again in the future. That type of teaching is invaluable and I know that I will have Azzurra's voice in my head when doing makeup for many years to come, which is surely the highest compliment!
I also cannot leave this review without mentioning the incredibly talented Jana. Jana taught us several times during the course, and was an invaluable resource for us all. Again, she was there to help us when we were going wrong and she answered all of our questions — believe me, there were always so many!
In terms of course content, you are taken through the different looks and given the opportunity to practice each of them. It's really good being able to practice looks on different students each day, as you are able to adapt the look to different face shapes and skin types. There is a real camaraderie between the students as you help each other through the looks. Ultimately you are all there because you love makeup and that is so infectious! I particularly loved speaking to other students (and teachers!) about what makeup they used and loved. I have discovered so many new gems that I didn't even know existed.

I attended the short course last April and I honestly can say I loved it! I had wanted to go since I was 14 (I'm now 21, attended at 20) I had a wonderful class, small so it was more intimate with every teacher that we had. Not only did you learn the iconic looks of the decades but also how to modernise them for current trends.
The teachers also go through with you how to maintain a profeshional approach within the industry, such as contacts, technical terms and even some of their own personal experience throughout there careers.
Finally, when you leave Glauca is always on call to help and is interested to see how you are getting on. You also get a contact sheet full of people to contact for test shoots for future work etc.

I'm previous student, I guaranteed that this makeup school is definitely the best in the world! We've got various teachers, they're perfectly talented, patient, warming! What I learned is not just skills, they're also trained my creative, inspiration, express ability... etc. I also got various opportunities to do work after school from Glauca, which is I truly appreciated!!! I don't think that's common in other schools, or any other system of makeup course.
Glauca is the most unselfish, generous, artistic, classic, kind, best leader I've ever seen!!!!!
